| Vocalist Valentina Marino - Quarantine Covers With a warm and velvet voice on her latest album, Quarantine Covers (self-produced and released December 19, 2020) international singer-songwriter and touring artist Valentina Marino reimagines, rearranges and reinterprets songs by her favorite artists, such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Alice Merton, Lucio Battisti and Gotye. While still deeply rooted in jazz, this album marks Marino's transition into new territories of pop and crossover. The story line behind the songs is captivating and Marino's band and arrangements are remarkable: a journey across the oceans of Love and Life through their seasons of death and rebirth, narrated by electric and acoustic sounds. "Metaphorically, " says Marino, "the songs also mirror the cycles we are going through during this pandemic. My wish is that life and Music can start again stronger and brighter than before, after this challenging chapter of interruption and separation." Quarantine Covers is an extremely interesting and sophisticated record, also a prelude to Marino's upcoming new album East 75th, a collection of all original songs, ready to be released in the US and in Europe this year.
