I was truly elated when he agreed to let me make a documentary on his phenomenal life. His story needs to be told and we are finding out that others agree! For over 60 years Benny Golson has entertained us and left an ineradicable mark on the worlds of music, television, cinema and popular culture. He has written so much music that it boggles the mind! Eight of his songs have become jazz standards. (Killer Joe, I Remember Clifford, Blues March, Along Came Betty, Whisper Not, Horizon Ahead, Are You Real? & Park Avenue Petite) His saxophone technique has been emulated by millions of musicians all over the world. He is a Grammy lifetime achievement winner. He was even the plot of Steven Spielberg's "The Terminal" starring Tom Hanks.
