Famspa Honors Suzanne Grzanna And Peggy Judy

Times Square Press, Elite Associates International and FAMSPA announced today in New York City that Saxophonist and songwriter Suzanne Grzanna shall appear on the front cover of Entertainment Greats From the 1800's to the Present: Cinema, Music, Divas, Legends.

The volume 6 of the series World Who's Who in Jazz Cabaret Music and Entertainment. Diva of musical comedy Peggy Judy will grace the back cover of the volume. "This new volume is a major undertaking" said Carol Lexter, an associate editor. What is so special about this new tome? Lexter said: "First, look at the title: "History of Entertainment Greats From the 1800's to the Present: Cinema, Music, Divas, Legends" It is self-explanatory. The book contains 1, 200 photos and retraces the chronological development of showbiz and music from the 1800s to the present." And how about the cover? Germaine Poitiers, senior editor of the Who's who said: "One more round...every time we come up with a new volume, we try to find the most suitable celebrity or talent -in this case- to grace the cover. It is not easy, you know. And all these showbiz politics in town and hot talks of publicists and artists' agents make our job quite unpleasant and demanding. I am talking about PR firms who are pushing for their clients...they want their stars to be on the cover. Some are obnoxious... they tell you, hey, if you don't put this or that (meaning their stars) on the cover, we will stop advertising on your website. You see what I mean!" So who is going to appear on the cover of the new volume? Lexter said: "We were looking for a talent who blends the glory and nostalgia of the past with contemporary and fresh breeze of today's genre...in other words, an artist who brings to the table, solid traditional musical heritage and innovative modern style. Suzanne Grzanna fits the bill. She is accomplished at so many levels; she is a composer, a singer, a writer, a producer and a pioneer. Besides, she is stunning! Yep! Looks help too. So, she is the one!

In the introduction of the book, Maximillien de Lafayette, author of this most impressive work wrote: "The world of showbiz, including Jazz, Pop, Rock "N" Roll, Hollywood, Broadway, cinema, and theater is unmerciful. How easy it is to forget the entertainment legends, giants and pioneers of yesteryears! Time erases the glory, the memory, and accomplishments of past stars and icons. The performing arts, musical heritage and treasures of America –and the world as well– will dissipate for ever, unless, conscientious historians bother to record memorable events from the history of entertainment, the ups and downs in the careers of stars of the era, and above all, the meaningful contributions of pioneers to the world of entertainment and performing arts. This is the duty of responsible historians. Fortunately, now and then, few books on the subject surface on the landscape of "intelligent" publishing shedding lights on our magnificent artists, entertainers, actors, singers, musicians and composers, and most cherished musical treasures, lost or forgotten for lack of scholarly research or because of changes in entertainment taste and preference of a generation that lost interest in the music and showbiz of the golden years of Broadway, Hollywood, New Orleans and Vaudeville. " Volume 6 has a strong emphasis on vital issues of the fabric and history of world entertainment, such as: 1-The forgotten legends, stars and outstanding artists of the golden era of showbiz, cinema, music and theater. 2-Greatest femmes fatales of all time around the globe. 3-Beauty, class and elegance in showbiz, entertainment and performing arts. 4-Hollywood; its creation, history and development. 5-The great movie theater palaces of America. 6-World cinema. 7-Film noire. 8-Jazz greats, past and present. Lafayette added: " This book is my way of assuring that artists of substance, depth and enormous contributions are still remembered with a tender joy, respect, admiration and affection. This is my salute to the legendary, the half-forgotten, the forgotten and the disappeared. I hope I have accomplished this objective in this volume."
Volume 6 shall be made available by September 10, 2007. It is published by FAMSPA, Elite Associates and TimesSquarePress.

There is still time for singers and musicians to be listed and/or written up in Volume 6 and forthcoming volumes. FAMSPA requires that artists' bios, photos and career highlight be emailed to Carol Lexter at carollexter@aol.com or by completing the Inclusion form posted at the website of the federation.
