The Nightwatchman Floors Newport Folk Fest Crowd

New England is talking about the Nightwatchman's debut appearance at the Newport Folk Festival. The Nightwatchman, Tom Morello, performed August 4, and stirred up a slew of attention. Morello recently told The Boston Globe, "The whole journey for me has been like Dylan in reverse. He began as an acoustic protest singer and then developed as an experimental electric musician. I've spent a number of years as an experimental electric musician and now I'm going to reclaim Newport."

Read on to see what reviewers - and notable peers of Tom's in music and activism - have been saying: "Tom is everything a citizen of a democracy should be. He will always ask tough questions and he will never accept pat answers because he was raised that way. Trust me -- I've met his mother." - Steve Earle, as quoted in The Boston Globe, August 3, 2007

"I was moved by The Nightwatchman. I listened to every song, the wonderful lyrics, loving his musical style -- powerful in a laid-back but insistent beat." - Howard Zinn, author of People's History of the United States: 1492 to Present

"The Nightwatchman, also known as Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, brought the overflow second-stage crowd to a peak." - Rick Massimo, Providence Journal, August 6, 2007

Epic Records recently made available an expanded version of the 'One Man Revolution' album with the bonus tracks "Alone Without You", from Michael Moore's film "Sicko"; and "Branding Iron."
