IT Industry Heavyweights Join CIO Connect

CIO Connect has announced the appointment of three IT industry heavyweights as Membership Directors, complementing its existing experienced team. The trio, themselves all former CIOs, will be assisting members to gain maximum value from their CIO Connect membership.

"The Membership Directors are all experienced CIO professionals and they will bring immense value to the network and its members", said Nick Kirkland, CIO Connect Chief Executive. "Complementing our long-standing Membership Directors, they will share their experience with the network by chairing and facilitating sessions, acting as a sounding board for less experienced members and challenging the thinking of our more experienced CIOs."

Rob Daniels joins following a senior technology career in publishing at LexisNexis and Reed Educational and Professional Publishing. Rob has extensive experience in the integration of acquisitions and managing international IT operations.

Peter Earl joins CIO Connect after 19 years in charge of information technology and systems at British Land, the FTSE 100 property company. Drawing upon 25 years in the real estate and financial sectors, Peter's main focus is on business transformation, ranging from the innovative application of technology through to corporate turnaround.

George Jeffrey joins CIO Connect with 20 years' experience in senior IT roles across a variety of industries, most recently with retail jewellers Signet. Following roles at HP Bulmer and in the music industry with PolyGram, Universal Music and Vivendi-Universal, George's main areas of expertise include governance and compliance, the role of IT in merger and acquisition activity and aligning IT and business strategy.

"The role of CIO has never been tougher and these appointments are yet further demonstration of CIO Connect's commitment to providing its members with the very best in CIO support", added Nick Kirkland.

The appointments follow a management-led buy out of CIO Connect from the National Computing Centre in February this year. CIO Connect offers tailored networking services and facilitates experience sharing between members, as well as leadership development training, for top CIOs in major organisations based in the UK.
