The DSL Forum Honours Eleven Members at Its 2008 Annual Meeting

The DSL Forum kicked off its 2008 annual meeting by honouring the outstanding work of eleven of its participants. The Circle of Excellence Award, Top Contributor Awards and three service awards were all presented at the meeting, being held in Warsaw, Poland.

William Lupton of 2Wire, Marco Quacchia of Telecom Italia and Giles Straub of Thomson were all inducted into the Circle of Excellence, in recognition of their dedication and hard work on driving to completion-Technical Report 135 (TR-135), which defines a data model for TR-069 enabled set-top boxes. This important document is a critical element to ensuring IPTV management improvements.

In recognition of their outstanding volume and quality of technical contribution over the last 12 months, six participants were presented with the 2007 Top Contributors awards:
- William Lupton, 2Wire;
- Peter Adams, BT;
- Hong Yu Li, Huawei Technologies Co.;
- Peter Reusens, LAN;
- Heather Kirksey, Motive, Inc.;
- Tim Spets, Westell.

The Outstanding Service Awards, which recognize long term significant leadership contributions to the DSL Forum, were the final awards to be presented.
· Lisa Garza, of Cisco, was recognised for her outstanding marketing vision and contributions, as well as her pivotal efforts to broaden the scope of the DSL Forum.
· Steve Plume, from BT, received the award for his efforts within the Forum on behalf of the service provider community and his commitment to providing a European voice for the Forum.
· Peter LeBlanc, in recognition of his efforts to stimulate global membership growth and to drive the continuous improvement of marketing execution.

All three are retiring board members of the Board of Directors for the DSL Forum.
