Reldata Reports Another Record-setting Year

RELDATA announces that the company produced record sales in 2007 for the second year in a row. The explosive two-year growth indicates that unified storage solutions are gaining ground in enterprise IP SAN and NAS markets as users look for more cost-effective virtualized storage alternatives.

Fuelling the success of RELDATA's annual performance was the introduction of two new storage solutions in 2007.

• RELDATA's 9240 SAS/SATA Unified Storage System, which delivers integrated iSCSI SAN, NAS and WAN replication functions on a single virtualized storage platform that delivers best-in-class performance. The system is easy to implement, operate, and manage, yet delivers enterprise-class functionality. The Unified Storage System combines RELDATA's 9240 Unified Storage Gateway with RELDATA's Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial ATA (SATA) disk storage, providing customers with a seamless, integrated solution that continues RELDATA's unrivaled record of delivering performance that matches the NetApp FAS 6070 at half the price.
• RELDATA's 10GbE 9240 Unified Storage Gateway/System, which delivers the first practical 10GbE solution that isn't burdened by the high cost, complexity, scalability and oppressive licensing requirements of conventional FC SAN implementations. Customers can independently scale disk storage capacity, iSCSI/NAS/WAN replication storage services, and network performance without application disruption. This "pay-as-you-grow" design liberates customers from vendor lock-in and the associated predatory pricing for additional disk capacity. RELDATA provides the simplicity found in Equallogic iSCSI solutions but with significantly more functionality, broader scalability and better price/performance.

As a result, RELDATA gained significant traction in a number of new markets including education, government, research, outsourced services (xSP), legal and transportation, with key installations of its unified storage solutions at institutions such as Harvey Mudd University, doeLegal, Interactive Media Associates, Swiss Metal, and Cambridge University. Another contribution to RELDATA's success this past year included the signing of value added distributor STORDIS, which expanded the company's global presence in the German, Austrian and Swiss reseller markets.

RELDATA was named as one of the "10 Emerging Storage Vendors to Watch" by CRN. VARBusiness included RELDATA in an article called "2007 Alternative Vendors – Storage: Mine the Gold Rush", which quoted a user saying, "Performance of the RELDATA product is a key differentiator. It's blazingly fast." A Taneja Group article on "Storage Virtualization becoming a reality" by Steve Norall, called RELDATA "an interesting emerging in-band virtualization player" in recognition of the company's "in-band gateway that provides a rich set of storage virtualization services supporting both file and block transfers."

RELDATA also underwent a successful organizational change with the promotion of Dave Hubbard as its new president and CEO from his COO role, the appointment of storage veteran Jeff Helthall as Vice President of Sales, and the addition of Bruce Rudin as VP Finance/controller.
