| iQstor Networks Announces iQ2850 iSCSI Storage System iQstor Networks has announced the iQ2850 iSCSI storage system developed to deliver automated IP SAN solutions with enterprise-level features including volume management-based virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote replication, storage provisioning and policy-driven capacity expansion. The iQ2850 iSCSI Storage System builds upon the company's successful iQ2880, taking its enterprise-class features and functionality - including embedded intelligence, scalability and plug and play simplicity - and adding the capability to easily deploy it within current data center network infrastructures to implement an IP SAN for better utilization of storage resources supporting storage applications such as backup and disaster recovery. The addition of the iQ2850 provides IT managers the ability to optimize their storage deployments cost-effectively by moving their data over IP networks using block-level storage systems to create and manage heterogeneous environments. Each iQ2850 supports up to fifteen 4Gb 400GB FC drives providing 6TB of storage capacity or 15TB using 1TB SATA drives, and can scale to 96TB FC or 240TB SATA through connectivity with the J2880 SBOD disk enclosure. Other features of the iQ2850 include hot-swappable and fully redundant controllers, power supplies, fan modules and disk drives. Enterprise-level data protection features provided by the iQ2850 include: - Volume Manager-based Virtualization (VMV) to consolidate storage resources, reduce complexity and increase ease-of-use; - Managed Snapshot Services (MSS) to improve disaster recovery and increase data availability; - Remote Replication Asynchronous (RRA) for off-site replication over IP offering enhanced business continuity and the ability to access data immediately after a primary site disaster; - Volume Copy Services (VCS) to create local mirrors providing a comprehensive replication solution within the storage network; - Database Application Agents (DAA) to ensure transactional integrity of databases while safely and reliably taking snapshots; - Multi-path Agent (MPA) to provide high availability in case of a path failure; - System Manager is an embedded wizard-driven browser that automatically discovers, monitors and manages the iQ2850. The iQ2850 addresses other key concerns for interoperability, reliability and ease-of-use. Its open system architecture lets users connect their servers with little or no ramp up time. Reliability is assured with iQ2850's dual redundant RAID controllers and the integrated data protection software offers IT administrators confidence that their critical data will be readily available when they need it. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Networking News :: home page |
