| NetEffect Offers Its 10Gb Accelerated Ethernet Adapter for IBM BladeCenter H in New Smaller Form Factor NetEffect has announced expanded support for the IBM BladeCenter H system by introducing a smaller form factor of the NE020BCH 10Gb accelerated Ethernet mezzanine adapter. The new adapter allows BladeCenter H administrators to meet the performance demands of a blade server environment while making room for multiple expansion cards on a single blade, maximizing I/O network connectivity. NetEffect began supporting the IBM BladeCenter H in August by introducing the NE020BCH, a dual-port 10GbE mezzanine adapter. The newest addition to the NE020 adapter family, the CFFh form factor mezzanine card, retains the dual-port configuration and all the performance and power advantages of its predecessor. It joins a family of 1Gb and 10Gb accelerated Ethernet adapters that meet and often exceed the performance of proprietary solutions. The NE020BCH maintains its low latency and high bandwidth under real-world data-center loads. Made possible through a unique, patented Virtual Pipeline Architecture, this sustained performance is critical in today's blade systems that incorporate many multi-core servers and run many applications through virtualization. Suited for space-constrained, high-density BladeCenter environments, each NE020BCH adapter can simultaneously drive all network traffic – clustering, data networking, and storage - with no loss of performance. NetEffect's single adapter, single software/firmware image approach saves precious space, simplifies deployment and reduces maintenance. Also critical in blade configurations, NetEffect adapters deliver top performance at one-third the power usage of competing adapters. Reduced power consumption lowers cooling requirements and frees watts in fixed power envelopes to be reused to increase processing densities through the addition of more or newer servers. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Networking News :: home page |
