| Avago Technologies Introduces New WCDMA Band 1 Duplexer Avago Technologies has announced two ultra-small, WCDMA duplexers. Using new and improved FBAR (film bulk acoustic resonator) technology, Avago's miniaturized ACMD-7602/ACMD-7612 duplexers deliver best in class transmit and receive insertion loss for UMTS band 1 handsets, femtocells, and data terminals. Optimized for the UMTS Band 1 frequency band, Avago's FBAR-based ACMD-7602/ACMD-7612 improves talk time and handset sensitivity in a miniature 3.0 x 2.5 x 1.2 mm max. package. The new duplexer offers a typical 1.1 dB insertion loss in the Tx band to minimize current drain from the power amplifier, industry-best receiver sensitivity and dynamic range support with typical Rx band insertion loss of 1.1 dB, interference blocking exceeding 53 dB, and over 43 dB of noise rejection. ACMD-7612 is the mirror image of the ACMD-7602 and ships in the same ultra-small package with best-in-class performance levels. The performance and size advantages of Avago's new duplexers make it suited for several market applications, such as UMTS handsets and femtocells. UMTS is a global standard for 3G mobile communication systems designed for high data rate applications. UMTS Band 1 networks have already been deployed in both Europe and Asia.
