Juniper Networks Names Penny Wilson Chief Marketing Officer

Juniper Networks has announced the appointment of Penny Wilson to the position of chief marketing officer. With more than 25 years of marketing and technology leadership experience, Ms. Wilson joins Juniper Networks after serving as senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Macromedia Inc., acquired by Adobe Systems, Inc.

Ms. Wilson will be responsible for leading Juniper's global marketing programs and resources. Working closely with the executive management team, she will direct the company's global marketing initiatives designed to align and support the company's corporate strategy and growth plans. Ms. Wilson will report directly to Mr. Elop.

Ms. Wilson joins Juniper Networks from Macromedia Inc. where she served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. In that role, she led the company's worldwide marketing efforts leading up to and through the successful acquisition by Adobe Systems Inc. in December 2005. Ms. Wilson joined Macromedia in 2000 and served as senior vice president in several assignments that included: Industry Solutions, where she spearheaded the company's vertical market strategy; Customer and Corporate Marketing, where she executed the launch of the MX-series product line; and Marketing and Production, Shockwave.com, where she was responsible for building the online entertainment portal. Prior to joining Macromedia, Ms. Wilson served as president and chief operating officer of ExtendMedia, Inc., a digital media services company serving the broadcast and telecommunications industries. Ms. Wilson also served, first as vice president marketing and operations, and then as president of Alias/Wavefront, Inc., an innovator in 3D graphics technology. She started her career at Merrill Lynch International, where she held various positions during her 10-year tenure, including vice president global information systems. Ms. Wilson holds an honors bachelor of science degree in computer science and business administration from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.
