| Allied Telesis Announces Latest Software Release for iMAP Products Allied Telesis has announced the availability of its latest software version, Release 10, for the integrated Multiservice Access Platform (iMAP). This release, which supports all iMAP chassis', contains a rich set of product enhancements to its portfolio of fiber, VoIP, and copper access features. Customers deploying FTTH will be interested in the new, ultra-high density, 100BX fiber line card, the FX20BX (AT-TN-139). The 20 port 100BX card uses breakthrough optical technology which provides double the port density of the existing iMAP fiber cards. Release 10 significantly enhances the portfolio of VoIP features available in the iMAP chassis. Native support for three-way calls on the current POTS24 card (AT-TN-123) eliminates the need for service providers to deploy adjunct conferencing hardware, saving both CAPEX and OPEX. This allows service providers to reap the cost benefits of VoIP backhaul, by deploying the iMAP/ POTS24 cards in the last mile. Existing analog telephone users can continue to use their existing equipment, with equivalent levels of functionality. Additionally, service providers can confidently deploy Release 10 knowing that all iMAP VoIP features have passed an extensive set of interop certifications with industry leading softswitches from Coppercom, Metaswitch and Nortel. Adding to the iMAP's ADSL2+ feature set is the ability to interwork between PPPoA and PPPoE. Service providers migrating from ATM to IP infrastructure will save time and money with this DSL Forum compliant interworking feature which eliminates the need to upgrade or reconfigure ATM based CPEs.
