Taiyo Yuden Installs CRYPTOCard's Two-Factor Authentication

RYPTOCard announces that Taiyo Yuden (USA) has implemented CRYPTOCard's two-factor authentication to secure remote access to its Cisco VPN. Taiyo Yuden's 95 remote users and outside consultants can now gain simple "One-PIN-and-You're-In" secure VPN access from Windows XP Professional laptops via CRYPTOCard's ST-1 software token. Staff that require access from multiple computers utilize CRYPTOCard's KT-1 hardware token that attaches to a keychain.

Taiyo Yuden was able to simplify its system by removing the additional Cisco Access Control Server layer. In fact, CRYPTO-Shield's seamless integration with Taiyo Yuden's security applications, including its Cisco VPN and Cisco ASA 5520 firewall has made it simple to strengthen VPN security with two-factor authentication.

Developed for real-world networks - where Linux and Mac workstations often live in a mixed Microsoft Windows domain, with Windows clients and Apache or IIS Web servers - CRYPTOCard's event-based two-factor authentication tokens make it simple to replace weak static passwords with a password that is randomly generated for every logon attempt. One-time passwords cannot be reused by hackers, and eliminate both the help-desk costs associated with resetting forgotten passwords and the security risk resulting from users writing them down.
