ADS Tech Unveils Its New PYRO AV Professional Video Solutions Line

ADS Tech has unveiled its new PYRO AV line of professional video solutions. The first products to be launched under the PYRO AV brand range from a 10-bit SDI-to-analog mini-converter to a 12-bit Analog Component video to HD/SD-SDI mini-converter.

PYRO AV Converters and Video Processors are unique new designs that use the latest video processing semiconductors to meet or exceed SMPTE standards. Complete and ready to use right out of the box, the PYRO AV family includes:
- The SD10DAC is a 10-bit standard definition SDI (Serial Digital Interface) to Analog Video Encoder that is suited for video monitoring, dubbing and desktop video applications. The SD10DAC accepts 10-bit SDI (SMPTE 292M and 259M-C) video to support NTSC/PAL video standards and automatically detects the format of the SDI input stream. Users can output 10-bit analog video in YPbPr, RGB or simultaneously in S-video (Y/C) and Composite video.
- The HD10DAC is a 10-bit Multi-Rate HD/SD-SDI to HD Component Analog Video Encoder. The device also provides two re-clocked and equalized Multi-Rate SDI outputs for using the device as a distribution amplifier and three BNC connectors for analog video output. With the high-quality 10-bit DACs, users can output HD resolutions up to 1920 x 1080P 24. The HD10DAC accepts 10-bit SDI 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 serial digital video to support NTSC/PAL video standards and automatically detects the resolution and format of the SDI stream. Users can select YPbPr, Betacam, SMPTE, RGB, Y/C or Composite video output for SD-SDI input streams.
- The HD10DAC utilizes a very high-quality HD/SD video encoder with 16X oversampling for SD video and 4X oversampling for HD video. Also included is a video reconstruction filter designed to handle the most demanding HD video applications for studio-quality video playback in PAL or NTSC.
- The HD12ADC is an exceptionally versatile Multi-Rate 12-bit Analog-to-HD/SD-SDI Mini-converter. It accepts analog video from any source (Composite, Y/C, Betacam, YPbPr, RGB) at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080i 60. After automatically detecting the format (NTSC or PAL) and resolution, the device's 12-bit analog-to-digital converters generate three duplicate multi-rate video streams-either SD-SDI or HD-SDI, depending upon the resolution of the analog video signal input.

All three PYRO AV mini-converters include a convenient LED to indicate that the SDI signal has been locked. In addition to serializing the video stream with superior jitter rejection, the devices provide NRZI-to-NRZ encoding and scrambling according to the SMPTE 292M and 259M-C standards and EDH (Error detection and handling) packet generation.

Measuring only about 4"x3"x1", the ADS Tech PYRO AV Mini-converters are housed in a rugged yet lightweight case designed for portability. From the steel locking power connector and the cast aluminum enclosure with steel end plates to the solid-state circuitry inside, PYRO AV converters are designed to last a lifetime in the studio but can also withstand the rigors of mobile events.
