Aberdeen University Implements ExaStore Clustered NAS Software

Exanet announces that the University of Aberdeen has implemented its flagship ExaStore clustered NAS software. The system was sold and will be supported by Exanet partner and systems integrator, Esteem. The ExaStore solution will support multiple protocols and allocate storage more easily and with greater flexibility.

With more than 13,000 students and 3,000 staff members, Aberdeen bills itself as being at the forefront of teaching and research in the fields of medicine, the humanities and sciences. The university's computing environment incorporates a variety of platforms, including Linux, UNIX and Windows, so a solution was sought that could unite all of the divergent protocols into a single-file system for concurrent access by thousands of users.
