Radiant Data Launches PeerFS 4.0

Radiant Data has announced the availability of PeerFS 4.0 offering support for multiple 64-bit environments including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, SUSE Enterprise Linux 10, Ubuntu 6.10 and Fedora Core 6.

Available since 2003, PeerFS is a replicating file system that delivers seamless, consistent access to data. Data on any PeerFS node is always visible and useable by local applications. PeerFS enables simultaneous transactions on multiple servers in multiple locations with separate but identical data stores that are continuously synchronized.

In addition to adding support for 64-bit platforms, file system performance has been improved by 40 percent, achieving comparability with commonly used file systems that don't provide the added benefit of real-time, continuous data replication. Always a feature of PeerFS, NFS interoperability has been enhanced to be both seamless and foolproof.
