| T-Com Selects the ADVA Fiber Service Platform 3000 ADVA Optical Networking announces that T-Com will use the ADVA Fiber Service Platform (FSP) 3000 for the expansion of its optical metro and regional networks. In cooperation with ADVA Optical Networking and partner Siemens Communications, T-Com signed a multi-year framework contract for the implementation of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM)-based transmission technology in its next-generation metro and regional networks. The flexibility of the ADVA FSP 3000 platform and its ability to efficiently handle multiple network interface protocols at data rates ranging from 8Mbit/s up to 40Gbit/s made it attractive to T-Com, which will now be able to provide new services both economically and efficiently. The ADVA FSP 3000 platform also offers consistent implementation of the new Optical Transport Hierarchy (OTH) network standard, which provides for transparent transmission as well as highly improved network monitoring functions. Triple Play services (data, voice and video) and other services for business and residential customers contribute to ever-higher traffic on the network today. Providers of these services require a flexible transport backbone network onto which they can integrate the numerous data protocols and transport media that access networks require.
