| Mereon Unified Messaging and Conferencing 4.0 Launched IP Unity Glenayre has launched Version 4.0 of its flagship applications suites, Mereon Unified Messaging and Mereon Conferencing, in conjunction with the start of the VON Spring 2007 Conference. With in-service systems supporting 65 million voicemail users and over 14 million managed service subscribers, IP Unity Glenayre has now enhanced its widely-deployed Mereon Unified Messaging and Conferencing applications to include key features for text and video messaging, scalability and controls for conferencing services, and more extensive data collaboration tools. Features that service providers can now leverage for more powerful Unified Messaging include: - Message Waiting Notification via Text Message/SMS enables users to be notified of a new voicemail message waiting or page sent, via SMS message from the system. This notification can be customized to include only urgent messages or those from specific calling numbers. - Missed Call Alert (MCA) via Text Message/SMS enables users to be notified of callers who dialed the user but hung up without leaving a message, via SMS. - Video Messaging features have been enhanced since their initial release in mid-2006, and now include Video 'Filler/Wall Paper' Support for callers leaving messages, message waiting notification via SMS, email and other options, advanced video message management and retrieval, storage space management that partitions a maximum capacity available for video messages (pre-reserving space for voicemails), and additional interoperability results for compatible videophone equipment. - Toll Saver enables compliance with new Latin American government regulations that require messaging services to provide features allowing callers to save money when leaving messages. - Desktop Fax now allows subscribers to send standard Microsoft Office documents to fax numbers directly from their desktop. This feature extends fax features already available in the Mereon Unified Messaging system. Expanded capabilities for conferencing services also now include maximum audio conference capacity of up to 600 callers, as well as: - New Data Collaboration Tools, such as Desktop sharing, URL and file sharing, Collaboration with most standard document types, White boarding, PowerPoint slide sharing, Remote control of another users PC, and ability to pass controls between conferencing participants. - Audio Conferencing Feature Expansion: Polling, ad hoc conferencing capacity expansion, ad hoc conference length extension, text chat, recording and storage of conference content, expanded participant notification, address book management and reservation options. - Enhanced Click-to-Conference Capabilities, such as storage of regular conferee lists or ad hoc notification; activation via web or phone. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Networking News :: home page |
