Idera Releases SQLsecure 1.2

Idera has announced the launch of SQLsecure version 1.2., a powerful security and user rights analysis solution for SQL Server. SQLsecure enables DBAs to protect SQL Server data by identifying SQL Server security risks, quickly determining who has access to the databases, and ensuring that security standards are met across all SQL Servers in an enterprise.

SQLsecure version 1.2 includes the following innovative key features:
- Enhanced Effective Permissions Analysis - Because there are many ways that a user can be granted access to SQL Server databases, it is very difficult to properly track and assess user permissions manually. SQLsecure automatically determines users' effective access rights across SQL Server, Active Directory, and Windows. New capabilities in SQLsecure 1.2 also show exactly how and where each right was granted, making it easy to pinpoint where changes need to be made to close security exposures.
- SQL Server Security Scorecard - SQLsecure v1.2 provides a "SQL Server Security Scorecard" which highlights the most critical SQL Server security risks. The DBA can then drill down for details on each item to determine the actions required for remediation of the security risk.

Additional features delivered in SQLsecure 1.2 include:
- Windows Account Analysis: New Windows Account Analysis feature shows all logins on the target server, as well as any suspect Windows Accounts or Groups;
- Enhanced Reporting: 10+ new pre-defined reports support compliance and standards reporting requirements, such as ISO and COBIT;
- Enhanced collection wizard: Customize the security data that is collected on each SQL Server.
