iPass To Deliver T-Mobile 3G in the UK

iPass has announced an agreement with T-Mobile UK to integrate its 3G data network into the iPass services platform. The agreement marks a significant enterprise-focused distribution agreement for T-Mobile UK and will give iPass customers' access to T-Mobile's existing UMTS network as well as HSDPA, the latest broadband data standard for cellular networks. T-Mobile is the first UK operator to deliver HSDPA capability across its entire 3G network, supporting data rates of up to 1.8 megabits-per-second.

The agreement helps iPass customers unify the management of mobile broadband data connectivity in North America, Asia and Europe. iPass already offers nationwide mobile data service in the USA, China, Japan and Singapore as well as access to over 75,000 Wi-Fi hotspots and Ethernet-enabled hotels. iPass plans to continue broadening its international 3G and Wi-Fi coverage over the course of 2007.

iPass customers around the world will get greater flexibility and more choices for connecting their users in the UK. This mobile data coverage will complement the more than 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots and Ethernet-enabled hotels iPass already offers in the UK.

The 3G service will be available in Q2 2007 once iPass has completed its Enterprise Ready certification process and the network has been integrated into the iPass service platform. Users will simply connect through the iPass universal client; the service will auto-detect the card and present the network to the user. Enterprises will be able to use the iPass Portal as a one-stop shop for web-based management and unified billing.
