Azaire Networks Introduces New IP-CNP with eXtended Mobility

Azaire Networks has announced the availability of its new IP Converged Network Platform with eXtended Mobility (IP-CNP with XM), enabling delivery of enhanced IMS/SIP voice services over both WiFi and cellular access networks. The new solution is fully compliant with 3GPP's TS 23.206 voice call continuity standard. Azaire Network's customers now have the ability to offer a complete range of rich voice, data and IMS services across existing cellular networks and new broadband IP wireless access networks.

Azaire Network's new IP-CNP with XM fulfills the mobile user's need to access subscribed services in a seamless manner whether at home, at the office or on the road. Additionally, operators can cost effectively deliver a combination of existing "voice and data" services in conjunction with new, rich VoIP and multi-media services. The new IP-CNP with XM leverages the SIP-based IMS architecture to extend operators' existing voice services over WiFi access. It also delivers new SIP-based applications such as instant messaging, presence, push-to-talk, video sharing over the same access network. Delivery of rich interactive applications over WiFi and cellular networks in combination with data services like push e-mail and broadband streaming video downloads/uploads, mobile TV and music downloads, ensures that users can experience "All Services Everywhere."

The IP-CNP with XM solution includes the Voice Call Continuity – Service Control Node (SCN-VCC 5000). Key features of this element are:
- Plug and play compatibility with existing core networks – The SCN-VCC 5000 benefits operators by providing the flexibility of operation as either a standalone server or as an IMS Application Server. In both these deployment modes, the SCN-VCC 500 works with 3GPP VCC and IMS compatible handsets.
- Seamless handover of voice sessions from WLAN to cellular and from cellular to WLAN – The SCN-VCC 5000 seamlessly switches the call from WiFi to cellular in addition to the more complex cellular to WiFi handoff.
- Full compatibility with 3GPP VCC architecture for centralized supplementary services – The SCN-VCC 5000 provides subscriber access to enriched SIP supplementary services independent of using the WLAN at their work/home location or on the cellular network.
- Integration into existing call routing framework - Enables users to benefit from VCC services without requiring a change in a user's mobile phone number.

The IP-CNP with XM solution is a standards-compliant solution based on 3GPP IWLAN and VCC standards. 3GPP IWLAN functionality implements a high level of security based on EAP-SIM/EAP-AKA and IPsec/IKEv2 and provides access to existing and new mobile packet mode services. VCC enables handover between WLAN packet access and macro circuit-switched cellular networks.

The IP-CNP with XM is the most flexible and comprehensive FMC solution available on the market. Operators can take advantage of the building blocks provided by the IP-CNP with XM solution to incorporate multiple FMC standard technologies such as I-WLAN and VCC. In addition, it provides the baseline security framework for UMA and femtocell implementations of FMC.
