Charismac Releases FibreShare v3.0 for Intel Based Macs

Charismac has announced Version 3.0 of their Storage Area Networking software FibreShare v3.0 is shipping. FibreShare v3.0 now works with the Apple Intel based Macs. The FibreShare volume management software manages multiple SAN users with the ability to share volumes between Intel and Power PC systems.

FibreShare Version 3.0 enables G4, G5, and the new Intel based Mac SAN users to share Fibre Channel networked storage without the bottlenecks commonly associated with other Fibre Channel management programs or traditional Ethernet-based networking.

Charismac's FibreShare has a vast installed user base running v1.0 and v2.0 with PowerPC based systems. FibreShare Version 3.0 will continue Charismac's dominance by being the first to release Native Intel Based SAN Software for the Professional Audio, Professional Video and Motion Picture industries where bullet-proof stability, reliability in conjunction with install and forget characteristics of FibreShare v3.0 software exceed users expectations.

FibreShare users with Video applications such as Apple's Final Cut Pro, Digidesigns' ProTools and Media 100 see fibre channel storage as if it were directly attached to the client's computer with no performance hit to the system. FibreShare works seamlessly with hardware from IBM, Vixel, HP, StorageTek, EMC, Brocade, Hitachi Data Systems, McData and many others.

FibreShare for OS X comes complete with all the Intel Native tools necessary for installation including the award-winning Charismac RAID utilities for Intel Native OS X allowing users to set up a SAN using single disk drives or multi-disk arrays including Hardware RAID Controllers. FibreShare v3.0 also comes with a comprehensive benchmarking tool in order to test storage devices on the SAN.
