| Sana Security Announces Wireless Protection Solution Sana Security has announced Primary Response Air Cover, a standalone product for PCs that provides broad threat protection of online identity and sensitive data from wireless exploits such as sniffing, hijacking and malware, including viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware and adware. The downloadable solution protects the growing mobile workforce across a number of connection profiles, including home, work or on the road, against malicious access points or ad-hoc connections, maintaining a high-level of client integrity. The self-configuration capability within Primary Response Air Cover enables automatic detection of various connections and configures itself over a period of time requiring little interaction from the user. Laptop computer sales are growing year over year in the private sector as well as the enterprise. In a recent Gartner survey of over 2,000 mobile professionals, it was reported that 25% used hot spots when traveling and over two-thirds of those surveyed used Wi-Fi at least once a day. Additionally, in a study of almost 2,500 access points in Indianapolis, presented at the Workshop on the Economics of Information Security at the University of Cambridge on June 26, 2006, researchers found that 46 percent were not running any form of encryption. Primary Response Air Cover forges the gaps in wireless security and addresses the complexities involved with mobile computing by automatically detecting threats that target wireless networks, thereby preventing inadvertent and unauthorized wireless connections. This solution not only mitigates risks associated with wireless connections, but also adds an additional layer of protection for personal identity and data to augment anti-malware solutions. Targeted at both consumers and the mobile workforce, Primary Response Air Cover includes basic tutorials that are built into the product to assist in educating users about the importance of implementing wireless security. Sana Security departs from complex approaches to improve wireless risk levels and offers: - Mobile flexibility with profiles to enable protection for users whether they are at home, at work or away, providing the ability to enable or disable interfaces manually and display all connection interfaces. - Event notification which provides the ability to adjust the various profiles to configure the right connection to maximize protection. - Ease-of-use that includes profile switching to meet connection requirements, automatic threat level assessment and intelligent auto-configuration for seamless setup. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
