| The Horror Channel and Akimbo Deal for Internet-to-TV VOD Service The Horror Channel has entered into an agreement with Akimbo Systems, creator of the first and largest Internet-to-TV video-on-demand service for television. The Horror Channel's wide array of programming, including each of its original online series, will be available to Akimbo Service subscribers just as this year's Halloween season is reaching its peak. Akimbo is the first fully functional marriage of TV and the Internet, combining easy access to new and fresh shows with the comfort of watching them anywhere in the home. The Akimbo Service features more than 13.000 on-demand videos from 200 content providers in seven languages. Consumers can choose from approximately 100 categories of mainstream and specialty video that fits every interest. Akimbo will be available this month on the new RCA Akimbo Player, an Internet VOD set-top box. Akimbo is also accessible in the Online Spotlight area of Microsoft Windows Media Center 2005 PCs, and is coming soon to the AT&T Homezone home entertainment service. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
