| PnPNetwork Selects Cypress's EZ-USB FX2LP Controller Cypress announces that PnPNetwork Technologies has selected Cypress's EZ-USB FX2LP controller to demonstrate the quality of its PN3030 T-DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting-Terrestrial) baseband decoder on its development platform. The EZ-USB FX2LP has the high throughput and compatibility needed to deliver high-quality streaming video to T-DMB USB boxes and dongles for viewing high-definition digital TV on desktop and notebook PCs. PnPNetwork selected the EZ-USB FX2LP controller for its robust 24MB/s isochronous transfers, reaching the theoretical limit specified by USB 2.0. The controllers take advantage of Cypress's 0.13-micron C8 process technology to reduce dynamic and standby power consumption by nearly 50 percent versus leading competitors, enabling bus-powered T-DMB designs. Available in a 5 mm x 5 mm VFBGA package, the high-performance EZ-USB FX2LP controller is ideal for space-constrained designs. The EZ-USB FX2LP is a fully integrated peripheral controller, including an 8051 microprocessor, a serial interface engine, a high-speed USB 2.0 transceiver, on-chip RAM and FIFO and a general programmable interface. Its unique architecture handles all basic USB functions, enabling the host system's microprocessor to focus on application-specific functions and ensuring sustained high-performance data transfer rates. Featuring a data rate of 480 Mbps, 16 Kbytes of on-chip memory, and up to 40 programmable I/Os, Cypress's EZ-USB FX2LP solution provides world-class design flexibility. There are also several package options, including an ultra-small 5mm x 5mm VFBGA package, suited for use in small form-factor mobile applications. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
