TRENDnet Ships New ClearLink Speakerphone for Skype

TRENDnet is shipping the ClearLink VoIP USB Speakerphone for Skype (TVP-SP2). The latest Skype phone from TRENDnet allows users to make hands-free Skype calls or conduct headset enabled conversations through the console’s built-in stereo headphone port. Skype is a provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service, which allows users to place and receive encrypted calls to other Skype users or regular landline and mobile phones over a high-speed internet connection for a fraction of the cost of traditional telephony. More and more users are looking to Skype and other VoIP services as a complement to existing phone systems to help reduce their phone bills. The new ClearLink USB Speakerphone is a versatile phone designed to make Skype a practical alternative for use in the home or office.

The unit includes a backlit, high resolution LCD screen to easily view contact lists, calling history and caller ID information. Hot key functionality allows callers to make phone calls to Skype contacts or regular mobile and landline phones with the touch of a button. Echo-cancellation technology makes for crystal clear, full-duplex communication. And since the phone is bus-powered, it does not require an external power supply, but can simply be powered through the laptop or desktop USB connection.
