| Cape Clear Has Largest Share of North American ESB Market Cape Clear Software has captured the largest market share of the North American Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) space for the second year in a row, according to Gartner Dataquest's recent report on the application integration and middleware (AIM) market, "Market Share – AIM and Portal Software Worldwide 2005". According to the June 2006 report, Cape Clear holds 18.9 percent of the North American ESB market, and has experienced revenue growth numbers of 86.7 percent. Worldwide, Cape Clear captured 15.9 percent of the market. The report provides a qualitative look at the AIM market and individual segments comprising that space. Total sales in the Worldwide ESB space were $114.8 million in 2005—a 160.7 percent growth from 2004, making it the fastest-growing AIM market segment. According to the report, "The introduction of Web services and the resulting popularization of SOA caused a major upheaval in this market. Before 2002, integration backbones were largely proprietary, and many application developers were unknowledgeable about SOA and event-driven design. During 2002 through 2004, a new type of middleware, ESBs, came to market to exploit Web-services standards and the growing interest in SOA". write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
