ActiveBPEL Enterprise for the Microsoft .NET Framework Is Available

Active Endpoints has announced the general availability of ActiveBPEL Enterprise for the Microsoft .NET Framework, the first commercial-grade BPEL server for the .NET community. ActiveBPEL Enterprise servers deliver BPEL design tools, execution and management capabilities, and run on the broadest range of enterprise deployment platforms. The general availability of ActiveBPEL Enterprise for .NET complements Active Endpoints' existing BPEL server solutions, which range from the ActiveBPEL open source engine to enterprise-class servers for Apache Tomcat, JBoss Application Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server and BEA WebLogic Server.

ActiveBPEL Enterprise for .NET is a native solution for Microsoft .NET Framework users. The core BPEL server executes as a .NET service, delivering advanced capabilities such as ADO connection pooling, CPU clustering, fault tolerance and load balancing. ActiveBPEL's server consoles, Help subsystem and administrative APIs install into virtual directories in Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0. By supporting the advanced capabilities of .NET and IIS, ActiveBPEL Enterprise provides .NET users with enterprise-class BPEL performance, scalability and reliability.

Active Endpoints defined two key objectives for the ActiveBPEL Enterprise for .NET product architecture:
1. Leverage the core functionality, performance and quality of the existing ActiveBPEL engine code line.
2. Integrate the core ActiveBPEL engine technology natively into the Microsoft .NET Framework.

ActiveBPEL Enterprise for .NET achieves these objectives, delivering a native BPEL server solution to the .NET community. SOA architects and developers can now easily build and deploy composite, BPEL-based applications using whichever .NET languages and technologies suit their needs, with the confidence of knowing that ActiveBPEL Enterprise for .NET will deliver all of the native fault tolerance, scale and security they require.
