| Channel Gateway 3000 Family by Luminex Software Luminex Software Inc. announces the Channel Gateway 3000 family of products and specifically the Channel Gateway 3200 and Channel Gateway 3400 product lines. The Channel Gateway product family is a new family of products from Luminex that will open the mainframe storage market to the competitive market forces that are at work in the open systems storage market by providing FICON capabilities with industry standard server platforms. The Channel Gateway 3200 and 3400 are the first of many new products that will be released in the Channel Gateway 3000 product family. The Channel Gateway 3400 is Luminex's mainframe FICON-based direct-to-tape product that enables Fibre Channel tape drives and FC-based Encryption Appliances to be channel attached as native mainframe tape devices. The Channel Gateway 3400, which is available for immediate delivery with FICON channel connectivity, now adds support for IBM 3494 tape libraries and most brands of open system tape libraries, in addition to existing support of the leading tape encryption appliances and FC tape drives in SUN/StorageTek tape libraries. The Channel Gateway 3200 is Luminex's FICON-based secure distribution product that enables mainframe tape data to be transparently encrypted and distributed on CD or DVD media to non-mainframe environments. The Channel Gateway 3200, which is also available for immediate delivery, allows customers to easily distribute confidential client data to partners or customers that don't have mainframes and greatly simplifies both media creation and access.
