| ATEN Technology Launches CAT5 KVM Switch ATEN Technology has announced a new enterprise-class KVM solution designed specifically for medium and large network environments. The new KM0832 CAT5 Matrix, part of the ALTUSEN line of enterprise-class KVM solutions from ATEN, is a 32-port, 8-console KVM switch that allows eight users to directly access and control up to 32 computers simultaneously and independently. The unit provides network administrators with the capability to manage more than 8.000 computers through a combination of daisy chaining and cascading. The KM0832 also features a detachable front panel, which allows users to mount the body of the KVM near the back of the rack, easing cable management. The new KM0832 CAT5 Matrix KVM will be available at the end of Q2. This space-saving 1U-high unit features a Category 5 UTP user port that connects seamlessly with ATEN's recently released CN5000 IP-based control unit to provide remote access to local servers. In addition, CAT5 technology improves cable management since CAT5 cables are thinner than coaxial. For local and remote server access (up to 500 feet away), the KM0832 helps network administrators optimize port allocation with a shared ninth console port on the front panel of the switch. Other Highlights of the KM0832: o RJ-45 and Auto Signal Compensation (ASC) provides 500 ft. signal distribution while maintaining crystal-clear video resolution o Multi-Platform Support (PS2, USB, SUN, Serial) o Cross-Platform Control - any supported console type can control any supported computer type o Control servers up to 500' away from switch o 3-level Password Security - Super Administrators, Administrators and Users o Keyboard/Mouse Emulation - enables error-free booting o Easy navigation and efficient management via Hotkeys and OSD o LCD, VGA, SVGA, XGA and Multisync Support o No Software Required o Lifetime firmware upgrades. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
