The new release protects email downloaded from Internet email (POP3) accounts against viruses and spam, as well as protecting email sent directly to corporate mail servers. eSoft's Email ThreatPak combines the latest spam-fighting technology with a powerful anti-virus engine and content filtering to provide comprehensive protection from email-borne threats right at the gateway. It uses deep packet inspection to monitor all email traffic on the POP3 protocol (commonly used by mail programs such as Outlook Express and Eudora) for spam, viruses and other malicious content and quarantines or deletes it before it can reach users' computers. Powerful and intuitive maintenance and end-user features of the Email ThreatPak allow IT managers to implement an email security solution quickly and easily.
