Avinti Launches iSolation Server Version 2.1

Executives anxious to protect their corporate data and reputation from the costly impact of crimeware and unknown e-mail threats can now identify and stop the first instance of previously undetected threats with Avinti's newly announced iSolation Server version 2.1. By teaming iSolation Server's virtual machine behavior testing with advanced reporting features and greater throughput, organizations can proactively identify and defend against Trojans, keyloggers and other fast-moving malware before they steal sensitive corporate data.

Recent findings and data breaches have called widespread attention to crimeware that steals corporate data for financial gain. Symantec reported in its 2006 Internet Security Threat Report that of the top 50 identified threats, 80 percent attempted to access confidential information, and a shocking 92 percent of the most threatening code was delivered via SMTP e-mail. Avinti's virtual machine security solution provides specific protection against such e-mail threats by preopening and testing attachments in a secure, virtual environment at the network edge. Using the virtual machine approach, iSolation Server identifies and stops targeted crimeware that currently slips past traditional defenses and delivers malicious payloads to unsuspecting organizations.

Specifically, the new version of iSolation Server v2.1 provides:
- Advanced reporting features - detailed reports on blocked unknown malicious messages that slip past existing defenses, along with the attempted behavior the threat would have executed
- Greater throughput - message throughput of up to a half million messages per day per server
- Active content filter - SMTP mail filter that strips out active, potentially dangerous content from HTML e-mail through an optional, user-enabled setting

The advanced reporting features of iSolation Server v2.1 deliver never-before-seen visibility into an organization's e-mail stream, providing administrators with detailed reports on first-instance threats slipping past their current security protection. By listing blocked threats and their attempted malicious behaviors, iSolation Server demonstrates a clear ROI for security and budget-conscious IT executives.
