| NOD32 Antivirus Protects From Internet Explorer Vulnerabilities ESET has announced that its award-winning NOD32 Antivirus solution is protecting users from recently announced vulnerabilities in Microsoft Corporation's popular Internet Explorer (IE) browser. While Microsoft is developing a patch to fix the vulnerabilities, ESET NOD32 Antivirus software allows users to safely surf the Web without becoming a victim of these vulnerabilities. Computer users not protected by ESET NOD32 Antivirus could potentially have their computers taken over by hackers simply by visiting a compromised Web page. Compromised computers are frequently hijacked to participate in illegal online activities, including sending spam and phishing emails, and hosting illegal materials (child porn). Victims of the attacked computers may lose data and personal information that leads to identity theft. ESET's NOD32 has proactively identified multiple attacks against this vulnerability heuristically, and identifies them by name as "JS/Exploit.CVE-2006-1359 trojan" since the update version 1.1457 virus signatures. Microsoft announced that the hotfix to patch the Internet Explorer security hole is being developed and is scheduled to be released in the second week of April. ESET's patented ThreatSense technology leverages advanced heuristics to ensure ESET NOD32 Antivirus users are already protected from future variants of attacks against this vulnerability. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
