| CREDANT Launches CREDANT Mobile Guardian 5.1 CREDANT Technologies has announced version 5.1 of its flagship product, CREDANT Mobile Guardian Enterprise Edition. In this release, CREDANT extends policy-driven security management and controls across the entire mobile data lifecycle and introduces support for Collaborative Mobile Data Security - an enterprise-hosted model that allows organizations to control security policies for data on mobile devices owned by business affiliates. CREDANT Mobile Guardian provides comprehensive protection by mapping the Mobile Data Security Life Cycle to four key process elements: Detection, Protection, Management, and Support. This provides organizations with a strategic approach that enables them to protect data at all times and implement compliance controls that adapt to changing business requirements. CREDANT's cross platform policy enforcement ensures security "follows the data" across the broadest number of platforms managed from a single console. CREDANT Mobile Guardian delivers the only architecture that manages the entire Mobile Data Security Lifecycle. In version 5.1 of CREDANT Mobile Guardian, CREDANT strengthens security across the entire lifecycle with the following enhancements: -- Encryption of Removable Media - enforces the Intelligent Encryption of data moved to any removable storage device (USB 'Thumb' drives, iPODS, etc) to mitigate the risk they pose as unsecured data repositories. -- Intelligent Encryption of Application Data - enforces the encryption of data created by business applications to protect against user error or malicious action that would leave data exposed. -- CREDANT 2go - enables employees to "point, click, encrypt" files for secure transfer via email, Instant Messenger, or other means. -- Out-of-the Box Support for Two-factor Authentication - supports some solutions including RSA SecurID for Windows, IBM Biometric Authentication, and Smartcards. -- Over-the-air Deployment, Activation, 'Data Kill', and Policy Updates - includes interoperability with 3rd party device management and synchronization providers, over-the-air activation and policy updates and immediate, enforceable, "Data Kill". -- Expanded platform coverage - comprehensive platform support includes now Windows Mobile 5 and the automatic detection and provisioning of Symbian devices. -- Enhanced Audit and Reporting - administrators can easily generate detailed reports on the use of mobile devices within the organization, quickly determine if notebook or handheld computers are secured and in compliance, and export the data to third party reporting tools. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Networking News :: home page |
