Metro Ethernet Forum Wins Light Reading award

Strix Systems, the leader in high-performance wireless mesh networking, today announced that the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), which is led by its vice president of marketing, Nan Chen, won Light Reading's Leading Lights Award for Best Marketing, Private Company. Light Reading named the MEF as the company that has best communicated a specific technology vision and/or business proposition to customers and investors, especially in cases where the company has defined and led the market.

"Winning in Light Reading's Best Marketing, Private Company, category is a great recognition of the work the MEF leadership is doing to advance the Ethernet industry, " said Chen. "The Leading Lights Award truly acknowledges our pioneering effort of leading the Ethernet industry to standardize and promote Ethernet into carriers' networks and into the Internet. We at the MEF have shaped the industry and shaped the Internet for the better, higher, faster, and most importantly, forever. I am proud of it. Now at Strix Systems, I intend to help revolutionize the networking industry again, this time with faster communications without wires for 100 percent mobility and reachability."

Nan Chen won the same prestigious Leading Lights Best Marketing award last year, when he represented a different company.

"We're clearly pleased for Nan to receive this well-deserved recognition by his peers and by the industry, " said Bruce Brown, president and CEO of Strix Systems. "As the only repeat winner of a Light Reading Leading Lights Award, Nan's ability and reputation speak for themselves. As the leader of Strix's marketing and product management, he has a unique ability to communicate our vision and the benefits of our industry-best products to our customers, and to lead the industry to adopt high-capacity, modular, wireless, Ethernet mesh solutions."
