RS&I to Distribute HUGHES Broadband Satellite Products

Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HNS), the world's leading provider of satellite broadband solutions, announced today that RS&I, Inc., one of the satellite industry's leading distributors, will exclusively distribute HUGHES broadband satellite products to its retail business partners operating in 22 western states.

HNS and RS&I signed a long-term extension agreement in which RS&I will manage the fulfillment, installation, and distribution of HUGHES consumer broadband products sold through RS&I's eight branches on the west coast. RS&I also will recruit and train new dealers interested in selling HUGHES products.

"After weighing all our opportunities in this field, we have decided to focus 100 percent of our efforts on the HUGHES brand, " said Randy Anderson, CEO of RS&I. "With more than 250, 000 active consumer and small business subscribers, HNS is truly the leader in the satellite broadband Internet access industry. When you add to that the recent launch of their DW7000 hardware and the associated advances in service plans, HUGHES is setting the standard by which all others will be measured, " said Anderson.

"RS&I had several choices when choosing broadband products to distribute to its retail business partners, " said Allen McCabe, HNS vice president of consumer sales. "Their decision to exclusively distribute HUGHES is a testament to the high quality and performance of our nationwide broadband service. No one has the 30 years of history and experience of HNS in delivering satellite products and services to business and consumers around the globe, " added McCabe.

HNS reached the quarter million subscriber mark in the second quarter of 2005 and has continued to expand its subscriber base, as well as increase the performance of its broadband Internet access service. HNS has made considerable investments in state-of-the-art satellite infrastructure and subscriber terminals to deliver a compelling service offering that reaches customers across the continental U.S., covering areas where cable and digital subscriber line options are unavailable.
