| US LEC boosts dynamic T VoIP Service US LEC Corp., a telecommunications carrier serving businesses and enterprise organizations throughout the Eastern United States, today announced the addition of BIGData, a high-bandwidth Internet and networking service option, for its Dynamic T VoIP service. "Dynamic T BIGData breaks through the 3 Mbps barrier by allowing greater speeds of up to 45 Mbps, providing businesses with large Internet and networking bandwidth needs with an innovative, cost-effective and scalable voice and data solution, " said Jeff Blackey, senior vice president of marketing and business development. "While Ethernet Local Loop provides a desirable solution for some high-bandwidth requirements, US LEC can now also offer businesses a more scalable Internet solution that adds an advanced, feature-rich voice solution and optimizes the bandwidth investment." US LEC offers Dynamic T BIGData in incremental bandwidth options ranging from 4.5 Mbs to 45 Mbs, allowing businesses to scale and purchase only the bandwidth required. This provides an alternative to services like US LEC's Ethernet Local Loop product, but with greater scalability, wider geographic availability and typically faster installation intervals. Dynamic T BIGData also offers a more survivable option than Ethernet services by delivering over multiple T1s versus a single fiber connection. Dynamic T utilizes dynamic bandwidth allocation, which improves data performance by intelligently allocating bandwidth based on traffic type. This capability allows data and voice to share available capacity, allowing greater data bandwidth during low voice usage periods, while ensuring minimum bandwidths for both data and voice. For example, during evening hours when voice traffic decreases, more data bandwidth is instantly available for users logging on to the corporate Virtual Private Network away from the office. Dynamic T BIGData offers the benefits of VoIP functionality with enhanced features such as Find-Me Follow-Me calling, call management and voice mail functionality. Since all voice traffic travels over the US LEC backbone, carrier-grade call quality and 911 services are guaranteed. Additionally, US LEC uses an Integrated Access Device (IAD) that is fully managed by the company, removing the burden of administering complex routing and protocols from customers, and provides 24 x 7 monitoring, repair and replacement service. "Businesses today require not only more bandwidth for both data and voice, but also an intelligent, scalable solution that makes the best use of their entire bandwidth investment, " Blackey said. "Dynamic T BIGData is a complete solution with the speed, scalability, management and flexibility businesses need." The launch of Dynamic T BIGData continues US LEC's aggressive roll out of IP-based products and services. This year, the company has rolled out several IP-based products like MPLS VPN, Ethernet Local Loop and Managed Data Backup and Recovery. With Dynamic T and Dynamic T- SIP products, US LEC extends VoIP- based capabilities to both traditional PBXs (Private Branch Exchanges) and new IP PBXs.
