Route1 signs agreement with ClearCube

Route1, an innovator in mobile thin-clients, today announced it's joining the ClearCube Solution Network, the technology partnership program of ClearCube Technology. ClearCube, based in Austin, TX, is a market leader and pioneer in PC blade computing. By executing this agreement, Route1 and ClearCube are establishing an integrated marketing plan for their combined technologies, including Route1's new Mobi Solution, a platform that enables instant secure, remote computing using ClearCube I/Port user ports, PC blades, and management software. "We're looking forward to working with ClearCube as our product sets are very synergistic, " said Andrew White, CEO Route1. "Both companies share a common vision in improving IT security, availability and the end-user experience. Both products deliver compelling IT mobility benefits." Route1's Mobi solution allows users to remotely operate office computing and network resources seamlessly and securely while traversing networks. The solution comprises hardware, software and the managed MobiNET service which authenticates users and devices and encrypts all data transactions using technology from RSA. With MobiNET, systems behind firewalls actually follow users and establish connections. Since no applications or data reside on the mobile devices, organizations can assure compliance with privacy, security and governance regulations. With ClearCube PC Blades, the traditional PC is removed from the end user's desk and replaced with a small user port. These ports are connected via existing cable infrastructure to PC Blades located in racks in a central, secure location. End-users work on ClearCube PC Blades with the latest Pentium 4 and Xeon processors as a desktop computing platform available from anywhere in the world. Combined with the MobiKEY for highly secure, simplified remote access, this architecture represents the ideal combination of centralized management, remote accessibility, and high performance for end users, all with industry leading hardware and data security. "Route1's Mobi Solution complements our centralized computing model, " said Raj Shah, Chief Marketing Officer, ClearCube. "PC blade adoption has grown quickly in financial services, healthcare, and government, areas that Route1 is also targeting with its mobile thin-clients." Route1's mobile devices include the MobiKEY, the world's first USB thin-client that turns any internet-connected Microsoft Windows PC into an instant Virtual Private Office running applications and data located elsewhere; and the MobiBook PRO, a wireless WinCE thin-client featuring full keyboard, large screen, and 6-10 hour battery life. Both devices require a monthly subscription to Route1's MobiNET service to remotely run applications and data on PC blades.
