The event, which takes place in Las Vegas at the same time as the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), is endorsed and supported by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG), the Wi-Fi Alliance, the WiMedia Alliance, and the UWB Forum. The Bluetooth SIG will host a cocktail reception at Pure Wireless with a presentation by Executive Director Mike Foley commencing at 5:00pm on Thursday the 5th of January. Anders Edlund, marketing director for the Bluetooth SIG commented, "Pure Wireless is an exciting and interesting addition to the technology event calendar. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group is pleased to be involved with an event that helps promote a better and broader understanding of the applications for wireless technology." Leading companies from the wireless industry will be present at Pure Wireless. The event's Platinum Sponsor is CSR, which is the leading global provider of Bluetooth technology and has developed expertise in other single- chip wireless communication standards such as Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11). Alan Woolhouse, Vice President of Communications at CSR explained his company's decision to take the lead sponsorship for Pure Wireless, "We have a long-term relationship with Incisor magazine, which, we feel, addresses more of the people that we want to reach than any other publication. We are pleased to be involved with Pure Wireless and are sure that Click's expertise and knowledge of the wireless industry will help it stage an exciting new event." CSR will operate a free limo service between Pure Wireless and the main CES venues. Incisor publisher and Pure Wireless Event Director Vince Holton explained the thinking behind Pure Wireless; 'I work closely with many of the companies that create the newest and most exciting wireless products and applications. It is very rare for consumers to have access to technologies such as Enhanced Data Rate Bluetooth, Ultra-Wideband, Wireless USB and high speed Wi-Fi products before they have become familiar, high-street commodities. There will be more than 130, 000 technology-hungry consumers in Las Vegas for CES, and by staging Pure Wireless we will bring these new technologies and the consumer audience together to provide a wireless tech-fest!' write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Networking News :: home page |
