Cloakware server Password Manager Express

Cloakware Inc., the world's leading provider of products and services that protect digital assets such as software, media, passwords and data from piracy and unauthorized access and use, today announced the general availability of Cloakware Server Password Manager (CSPM) Express. An appliance-based version of Cloakware's flagship server password automation solution, CSPM Express increases the security of users' data center operations and improves the efficiency of managing their servers, while helping to meet the latest regulatory requirements and reducing their costs. CSPM Express has been created and priced for corporations with 200 servers or less.

"CSPM is an innovative solution that provides users with the ability to quickly and efficiently update all of the passwords hard coded into their servers and applications, " said Andrew Braunberg, Senior Analyst at Current Analysis. "Cloakware is significantly improving the way organizations manage the access to their systems."

CSPM Express is based on the same features available in the CSPM Enterprise solution (seehttp://www.cloakware.com/products_services/server/)to help small- to medium-sized businesses eliminate hard-coded passwords from their applications. New regulations have highlighted hard-coded passwords as insecure and unacceptable in any sized company. Auditors are now applying increased pressure to eliminate hard-coded passwords and stop the practice of sharing the credentials, used to protect critical data, with the developers who write applications.

"Small- to medium-sized corporations suffer from the same costs and complexities due to hard-coded passwords as we have found in our Fortune 1000 accounts, " said Jeff Waxman, CEO of Cloakware. "CSPM Express provides these companies with a compelling solution for managing server passwords that is both easy to deploy and manage. CSPM Express is an important tool that eliminates a significant network vulnerability while reducing operational expenses that should be considered for an organization's efforts towards regulatory compliance."

About Cloakware Server Password Manager Express

With CSPM Express, companies no longer need to distribute server IDs and passwords to the developers that write the scripts and applications. Rather, developers embed a Cloakware supplied routine, available for Perl, Java, C, C++ and more, into the scripts and applications to securely acquire the required credentials at runtime from a secure and centrally managed, appliance-based credential release server.

Server passwords are then able to change as often as required without having to redistribute the passwords or maintain the scripts that use them. By protecting server IDs and passwords from both external and internal threats, and with the simplicity of an appliance-based solution, Cloakware Server Password Manager Express goes far beyond any other solution available today.
