| Tiger Telematics Introduces Mobile Email Gizmondo Europe Ltd. subsidiary of Jacksonville, Florida-based Tiger Telematics Inc (other OTC, TGTL) today confirmed the global release date for its email service on the Gizmondo multi-entertainment handheld as 28th October 2005, following on from the launch of the hardware this weekend in North America, 22nd October 2005. This latest application expands the communication functionality of the device from text (SMS) and picture (MMS) messages to include a fully-fledged POP3 email service, giving users access to their inbox anywhere within tri-band GSM coverage. The application is available for a one-time charge of $29.99 for those downloading the latest service pack update and can be configured for a wide range of POP3 email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and mail services from other popular OSPs. Steve Carroll, Managing Director, Gizmondo, says: "People are getting increasingly more dependent on email as a form of mobile communication and there's been considerable demand for us to introduce it on to the Gizmondo. The advantage for Gizmondo owners is they can send and receive email wherever they have GSM coverage, and you're not reliant sporadic WiFi access." write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Networking News :: home page |
