| 2025 DC JazzFest to Present Renowned Artists at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) today announces 2025 DC JazzFest programming for its indoor festival home at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. From August 28-31, DCJF will present a powerful and flavorful lineup of great music at Arena Stage. Conveniently located adjacent to District Wharf's three open air stages, Arena Stage offers a contrasting, acoustically sumptuous interior home for the annual DC JazzFest marquee weekend. In addition to the extraordinary song stylist Cécile McLorin Salvant, Arena Stage will host performances by NEA Jazz Master and DCJF Artist-In-Residence Ron Carter, the sensational pianist Emmet Cohen and his trio, and tenor titan Paul Carr in tandem with the ever-swinging vocalist Vanessa Rubin. The JazzDC All-Stars under the direction of pianist Allyn Johnson, the "Dean of DC Jazz, " will perform the music of Billy Childs with special guest saxophonist Steve Wilson and the DMV's own 2025 Grammy-nominated vocal songstress, Christie Dashiell. In addition, our second 2025 DC JazzFest Artist-in-Residence, bassist Corcoran Holt, has assembled an astounding SUPERGROUP, featuring pianist George Cables, trombonist Steve Turre, trumpeter Sean Jones, tenor sax giant Billy Harper, and the incendiary drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts. "We are so looking forward to another DC JazzFest series of festival performances in the beautiful setting of our indoor home at Arena Stage, " says DC Jazz Festival CEO Sunny Sumter.
