| Kristen Mather de Andrade the Chappaqua Library Theater March 30th 3PM Chappaqua, NY Kristen Mather de Andrade is a critically-acclaimed artist who has now released three albums, and two EPs. In her aesthetic, jazz, classical, and Brazilian music commingle, creating a sensibility that defies genres, honors traditions, and seeks to bridge the distance between often esoteric music and public tastes. For this special event featuring a 15-piece orchestra, she will share the music from her upcoming album, "Sem Fim" (the Portuguese word for "Endless"). The orchestra is made up of the string quintet, Toomai, brass and woodwind players from the West Point Band, and featuring a rhythm section of the finest Brazilian musicians in the country - Vítor Gonçalves, Eduardo Belo, Vinícius Gomes, and Dennis Bulhões. Leading up to the event will be a gallery display in the Chappaqua Library featuring pieces by Rita de Souza and Rodrigo Antunes (both of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil). The gallery show will also display a private collection of artisan work from Minas Gerais. A reception will follow the performance on March 30th with Brazilian food provided by Araras in White Plains. This concert is partially funded by a grant from ArtsWestchester and by the Friends of Chappaqua Library. 3:00 - Trailer Film about the project "Sem Fim" produced by Eva and Brandie Lane 3:10 - Welcome Messages 3:15 - Concert 4:45 - Reception with Brazilian treats provided by Araras 195 S Greeley Ave, Chappaqua, NY 10514 write your comments about the article :: © 2025 Jazz News :: home page |
