| Ron Carter Supports Sitka Jazz Week August 24-31, 2025 Mr. Carter says: "Sitka Jazz Week is an organization to which I am proud to lend my support. Based in Sitka, Alaska, the Sitka Jazz Week is a week-long educational program partnering with Mt. Edgecumbe High School to bring world-class jazz education to Native and underserved Alaska students. Students are mentored by experienced jazz musicians in the mornings, then put their new skills to use in live concerts for the public in the afternoons. Sitka Jazz Week encapsulates my #DedicationToEducation philosophy: There are some things which can be learned in the classroom, and some which can only be learned on the bandstand. This wonderful program allows students of ALL AGES to experience both. A donation to Sitka Jazz Week (in its 3rd year) helps cover the cost of student scholarships, as well as transportation, meals and lodging during the week."
