| Trumpeter Glenn Makos and Brue - Jan. 10 APAP Showcase and More As both a leader and sideman, trumpeter Glenn Makos has performed at New York area jazz clubs, including Birdland, The Blue Note, Zinc Bar, Shrine, Silvana, and The Knitting Factory. His new group BRū explores original compositions by Glenn with eclectic grooves influenced by samba, funk, hip-hop, and jazz. He is joined by alto saxophonist Craig Yaremko, Victor Lin on keyboard, electric bassist Felipe Arce, and Daniel Silva on drums. They will be playing material from their upcoming album, Arrowsic, on Stop Time Records. Previous albums include The Michel Legrand Project, Houston Street, Now and Again, and Lapses In Synapsis, all on Stop Time Records. Glenn has performed with Cleo Laine/John Dankworth in Bermuda, singer Titilayo Rachel Adedokun in Munich, and Santy y su Son de Cuba in Prague. Glenn has worked with Dave Valentin, Randy Brecker, saxophonist Danny Weiss, pianists Joel Weiskopf, D.D. Jackson, Brian Jackson, Ehud Asherie, guitarists Rez Abassi and Pete McCann, bassists Boris Kozlov and Sean Smith, drummers Willard Dyson, Steve Davis, Gene Lewin, and Gasper Bertoncelj. Appearances also include the Jamie Begian Big Band, Diane Moser Big Band, vocalists Liza Minelli, Neil Diamond, Jay Black and the Americans, Al Martino, and Jack Jones.
