| New holiday single from Gergana Velinova Gergana Velinova, an esteemed jazz singer-songwriter, has created an original holiday song that conveys a poignant message inspiring love, unity and kindness across diverse communities. This is the Time aims to brighten up the holiday season for everyone regardless of their religious beliefs or cultural background. Due for release on November 22, 2024 This is the Time effortlessly blends the sentimental tones of the festive season with an uplifting spirit. Velinova delivers a finely-crafted melody paired with touching lyrics that capture the spirit of the season, although the timeless sentiment can also be enjoyed at any point in the calendar year. Gergana and her producer and music collaborator Kristian Alexandrov have a remarkable connection, having both originated from Sofia, Bulgaria, and graduated from the esteemed Sofia National Music Academy as high school friends. After years of separation resulting from the fall of the Iron Curtain, they reconnected in Vancouver, BC to revive their creative partnership. Presently, Kristian Alexandrov is at the helm of producing Gergana's seventh album, anticipated for release early next year, featuring innovative jazz pieces that pay tribute to her Bulgarian roots. Gergana Velinova has inspired international audiences with her diverse artistic talents. A native of Bulgaria, she has performed throughout the USA, Europe, and Canada. With a repertoire extending from her own compositions to Ellington, Jobim and Gershwin, Gergana is equally comfortable in the world of Jazz, Bossa Nova and Art Song. Gergana has shared the stage and recorded with Grammy and Juno nominees such as Neal Swanson, Keith Ganz, Phil Dwyer, Brad Turner, Don Thompson, Jody Proznick and Misha Piatigorsky to name a few. She has released six albums which have received critical acclaim and reached in the TOP 10 of the US CMJ Top 40, Roots Music and the Earshot USA and Canadian Jazz Charts. Her highly anticipated 7th album is expected to be released in early Spring of 2025 and will be featuring Gergana's original compositions and poems. In addition to her performance career Gergana Velinova is well known for her work as a Music Entrepreneur, Choral Conductor, Vocal Coach and Music Educator. Gergana holds a Master's Degree in Jazz & Contemporary-Classical Voice Performance from the Longy School of Music in Boston and undergraduate studies in Vocal Jazz from the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles.
