Jazz at the Bolt has built a steady following of jazz, improvised and soulful music lovers over the last five years, driven by the programming vision of its founder and Artistic Director, Cory Weeds. In recent years, this programming mix been significantly bolstered by the addition of BC music veteran Tim Reinert and his Infidels Jazz series. The result is a weekend of perfectly curated music that encompasses a wide range of influences within the jazz tradition, and prides itself on its diversity, innovation, inclusivity and deep soul. Jazz at the Bolt has presented well over 200 BC-based artists in its 5 editions, fought through the deep challenges around the global pandemic, and is coming off its strongest year ever in 2024 with a new program of local, Canadian and international artists, unique collaborations and cross- cultural ensembles that make it the most unique jazz festival in the country. As usual, numerous albums will be recorded around this weekend's programming, with the festival providing the catalyst for much of the music that will be cut to wax.
