Sol Roots performs an award winning blend of funk, soul, and rock for SummerSounds concert series Sat Aug 24

On Saturday Aug 24, City of Manassas presents the final SummerSounds concert of the 2024 series, featuring the Sol Roots band, who will be performing an evening of award winning funk, soul, blues, and rock.

Each year, the ARTfactory, in partnership with Micron, the City of Manassas and the Harris Pavilion offers a series of free concerts. The popular concerts are scheduled on Saturday evenings throughout the summer. Bring your chairs, blankets, and picnics to enjoy these concerts with your friends and neighbors!

SummerSounds is partially supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Sol Roots

The Sol Roots band performs a mix of New Orleans influenced funk, deep blues, energetic rock, heartfelt soul and R&B, and hypnotic rhythms. Sol is a fierce guitarist and soulful vocalist who has toured around the world with many musical legends.

The Sol Roots band have shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, The Wood Brothers, Sonny Landreth, Robert Randolph, Eric Lindell, Roosevelt Collier, Cory Henry, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene, New Orleans Suspects and more.

Paying homage to the greats, and with a love of Universal Music as the guiding light, Sol steps out on a path with a powerful group unique and talented band of musicians.

Sol Roots is an official Home Grown Music Network artist and a "Next Generation" Music Maker Foundation artist.
