Kristen Mather de Andrade at the Warner Library Saturday, September 7th 2:30pm Tarrytown NY

New York-based artist Kristen Mather de Andrade has immersed herself in a broad array of musical languages and cultures, from the classical canon to folk styles, Brazilian music, and beyond. Devoting time to both the worlds of clarinet and voice, she has enjoyed a career of prime accolades and acclaim within her chosen musical paths.

Mather de Andrade released her debut album in 2021, where she both plays clarinet and sings in Portuguese, garnering praise by the likes of Jazz Weekly, Connect Brazil, and even earning GRAMMY attention.

She has since released another album and two EPs following the success of Clarão. Her performances have been described as "mesmerizing, " "eclectic and engaging, " and like "a street festival of fun" by reviewers. Blending high energy grooves and heartfelt songs and stories, her shows are not to be missed!

On September 7th at 2:30PM, Kristen will perform with Vítor Gonçalves (Accordion and Piano), and Eduardo Belo (Double Bass), at the Warner Library in Tarrytown, New York.

This trio is co-producing an upcoming album entitled "Sem Fim" which they will be performing selections from. "Sem Fim" (the Portuguese translation of "endless") will feature music by major icons of Brazilian and American traditions. To learn more, visit www.kristenmather.com

Vitor Gonçalves is a pianist, accordionist, composer and arranger from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After an illustrious career as an in demand musician in Brazil, playing with such icons as Hermeto Pascoal, Maria Bethânia, Itiberê Zwarg, and many others, he made the move to New York City, where he currently resides. He received two nominations for the Grammy Awards 2020, for Best Latin Jazz album with Thalma de Freitas, and for Best Large Jazz Ensemble with Anat Cohen Tentet.

Eduardo Belo is a bass player and composer from Brasília, Brazil. Since a young age, Eduardo has been interested in many different styles of music and is known for his versatility. He has shared the stage with a variety of musicians, including: Michel Camilo, Romero Lubambo, Lee Konitz, Kevin Hays, Bebel Gilberto, Steve Wilson, Duduka da Fonseca, Pedro Martins, Chico Pinheiro, Ari Hoenig, Clarice Assad, Claudio Roditi, and many others.
Eduardo is releasing his first record under his own name only with original compositions. The record is called "Belo and the Beasts" and features musicians on the lineup for this show.

Devoting time to both the worlds of clarinet and voice, Mather de Andrade has enjoyed a career of prime accolades and acclaim within her chosen musical paths, but these days music feels as vital as ever as she explores being a solo artist. This fresh outlet of releasing her own recorded music has been transformative, as Kristen has released her sophomore album "As Bright As The Skies Are Blue" (2022) on the heels of her critically acclaimed debut album "Clarão" (2021) in addition to two EPs "Evergreen" (2021) and "Winter Weather " (2022). She is the principal clarinetist and soloist of the West Point Band.
