"I'm proud to be part of WBGO's 45-year history as the purveyor of soul music every weekend since 1986, " said Hernandez. "Although I've been at other stations, only WBGO has allowed the flexibility and creativity needed to make Rhythm Revue the special radio show it turned out to be. Ultimately, listeners made our 38-year run on 'BGO possible. So, thanks fans, and thank you WBGO! Now let's celebrate this Saturday!"

Hernandez started his career as a producer and radio journalist while in college. In the 1980's, he independently produced the award-winning radio series BluesStage, which had a six-year run on over 200 NPR stations. He also worked extensively as a journalist with WBEZ in Chicago, and NPR. In 1986, Felix joined WBGO with the classic soul and dance music show Rhythm Revue. The program has also aired on New York's WBLS, WRKS ("Kiss-FM"), WTJM (Jammin' 105) as well as Sirius/XM. In 1991, Felix started the Rhythm Revue Dance Party, an event which continues to sell out venues throughout the New York metro area. The Rhythm Revue Dance Party was important in the 1990's revival of the Roseland Ballroom, where Felix held his monthly event for 22 years. Felix also produces concerts and music compilations, and is working on a book based on his hundreds of interviews with R&B artists over the past three decades. He and his wife live in Brooklyn, where they raised three children.
